Desktop application
Maatvia on your desktop
The desktop application runs the same console in its own window. It keeps you signed in, queues edits made without a connection and replays them once the service is reachable again, and provides a tray menu for reconnection. It is built to read a release feed for newer versions, and no update feed is published at the moment, so updating is something you do by hand for now.
Retrieving the current release…
What the desktop application adds
- ✓ An update check wired to a release feed, which takes effect once a compatible update feed is published. None is published at the moment, so the application will not find an update yet.
- ✓ An offline queue that retains edits made without a connection and replays them with automatic retry.
- ✓ Explicit conflict handling: when a record changed on the server after your offline edit, you choose which version to keep.
- ✓ A tray menu to show the window, synchronise now, restart the connection, check for updates or quit.
- ✓ Where a checksum is recorded for an artefact, the updater verifies it before installing that artefact.
Installation
No installer is published at the moment. To use a pre-release archive, download it, unpack it, and run the application from the unpacked folder; to remove it, delete that folder. Signing in uses the same credentials as the web console. If you would rather wait for an installer, the web console has the same features today.
