Where AI and automation are used

The following surfaces may be produced or assisted by AI models and automated parsing. Each of them can contain mistakes:

Translations

Regulatory text, measure titles and notes translated from another language. Legal meaning can shift in translation, and untranslatable terms may be approximated.

Regulatory summaries

Condensed descriptions of measures in the regulatory tracker. Summarising removes detail — including exemptions, thresholds and transition dates.

Mitigation step suggestions

Suggested actions and stages for a measure. These are generic patterns, not an assessment of your operations.

Classification suggestions

Proposed HS/HTS or export-control codes and duty indications. Classification is a legal determination that only you or your broker can make.

Screening explanations

Narrative explanations of possible matches against denied-party or sanctions lists. Matching is fuzzy: both false positives and false negatives occur.

Supply-chain and exposure analysis

Scores, risk tiers and value-at-risk figures derived automatically from the data available. They depend entirely on the completeness of that data.

Spreadsheet parsing

Column matching when importing workbooks from OneDrive or SharePoint. Unexpected layouts can be mapped to the wrong field.

Known limitations

• AI output can be fluent and confident while being factually wrong — this includes invented citations, code numbers and dates.
• Models have a knowledge cut-off and do not know about measures announced after their training data, except where our own feeds supply them.
• Regulatory feeds refresh periodically, so the console can lag an official publication.
• Source data quality is decisive: incomplete spreadsheets, stale exports or missing entities produce misleading scores.
• Numeric outputs — scores, completeness, confidence, duty savings, value at risk — are indicative modelling, not audited figures.

AI output is not advice or a determination

Maatvia LLC is not a customs broker, law firm or licensed adviser. Nothing produced by the console — AI-assisted or otherwise — constitutes legal, customs, tax, sanctions or export advice, and none of it is a binding ruling, licence determination or screening clearance.

Your due diligence obligations

Before you rely on anything the console shows, and always before filing, shipping, releasing goods or onboarding a counterparty:

1. Open and read the official source — the publishing authority's notice, regulation, tariff schedule or list entry.
2. Confirm the version and effective date, including any transitional or grace provisions.
3. For translated text, work from the authoritative language version.
4. Have classifications, licence determinations and screening hits reviewed by a qualified person — your licensed broker, trade counsel or compliance officer.
5. Record who reviewed the output and what they decided; the mitigation log and its CSV/PDF export exist for exactly that.

Human oversight and no automated decisions about individuals

The console is designed to keep a human in the loop. It does not make automated decisions that produce legal effects for individuals, and it must not be used as the sole basis for such a decision — including any decision about a natural person's employment, creditworthiness or eligibility.

Liability

AI-assisted output is provided without warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for purpose. Our liability for it — including for duties, penalties, fines, seizures, delays or lost profits — is limited as set out in section 10 of the Terms of Service.

Reporting bad output

If you find an incorrect translation, summary, code or screening result, tell us at support@maatvia.com with the measure or record reference. We use those reports to correct feeds and improve prompts.
